About me

Hi! I am a software developer. I have been working in the industry for a few years, and I recently decided to publish my first open-source application. The first feedback I received was: "You should write a page telling people who you are."

Fair.

As a good developer, I treated that as an issue and fixed it.

What I am building right now

Right now I am building Mochi Sticky as a side project: a small productivity tool for developers who regularly bounce between tasks and want to keep their notes close to the code.

I am building it because I like simple tools that remove friction. I also have other ideas I want to publish in the future.

What you will find on this site

Mostly the evolution of Mochi Sticky and my journey building it: devlogs, release notes, small lessons learned, and the occasional "why is this harder than it looks?" moment.

When I ship other tools, they will show up here too.

Me as a software developer

I have always felt lucky to find a profession that aligns with my passion. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work across different industries including design, telecommunications, laboratories, and finance.

My first love was Java. I know, not everyone's favorite. But I still like it, and most of the time my brain tries a Java-shaped solution first.

This journey as a developer has also let me work with and learn other technologies like jQuery, Angular, React, Go, and Python. I hope to keep learning more.

If I had to point to one thing I love most about being a software developer, it is the coworkers I have met over the years. A big part of my technical knowledge is thanks to them and their patience.

Me as me

You know the typical developer stereotype every movie has? That is basically me, just without the hacking skills.

I like reading comics and manga, plus sci-fi and fantasy books. If you like fantasy, you have to read Brandon Sanderson's books. You cannot go wrong.

I like food (it is basically in the name: "mochi"), traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

Feedback

I am not sharing an email address here. If you have feedback, ideas, or bug reports, the best place is GitHub: mochi-sticky repository.
